Another inspiration from my music magazine is Q. Q has 66% of the readers being ABC1 and of the readers being between the ages of 15-45. 77%
readers are being males and 34% being females. Their are 666,ooo weekly readers. (information from NRS).
Q and NME both have very similar target audiences. Both of there aim are the same, aiming at new and up and coming artistes and trendy music. They are both mainly in the rock and indie genre. Also because they are aiming at particular genre and audience both magazines are very successful.
My magazine is going to be very similar to both of these magazines. I want my magazine to also be about new and coming artistes and trendy music. I also want, like both Q and NME, to aim my magazine at males but unlike NME and Q I want my magazine to be aimed mostly at males around the ages of 16-35 but I would also like their to be thing for women as well but I think mainly the women who would read the magazine would be musicans. Like NME and Q I also want to aim my magazine at ABC1 readers. If I had to base an average person that would read my magazine I think they would be big music lovers, maybe musicans. I think we would be in to all kindas of music because if they are reading a up and coming/ popular music magazine then they would have to like different type of music.
